Ever since the first time I heard him rap, I’ve been a fan. That’s saying alot because it usually takes some time for an artist to grow on me. With that being said, I think Drake is a breath of fresh air that came out of nowhere. He’s been on his mixtape grind (Room For Improvement, Comeback Season and So Far Gone) and building a buzz since 2005 but why am I just hearing about him, like this year? Maybe it’s because there is alot of talk about him joining Lil’ Wayne and his Young Money imprint and different big label execs are in a bidding war for him too. All I know is this young man, 22 to be exact, is what the game’s been missing. He adds substance, wit, lyricism and a whole new outlook to his music and in time we’ll definitely see that this dude has exactly what it takes to breath a lil more life into Hip-Hop.
