Video: Hope For Haiti Performances

Beyoncé dedicated her performance of “Halo” to the people of Haiti at the “Hope for Haiti Now” telethon in London. As always, she did her thing…vocals were very nice!

Jay-Z, Rihanna, and U2’s Bono and The Edge debuted their charity single “Stranded (Haiti Mon Amour) – Version 1.0” live in London during the telethon. The Swizz Beatz production is now available to download on iTunes with all proceeds benefitting Haiti relief efforts. I really like the song!

Video: Alicia Keys does “Unthinkable” on AOL Sessions

Alicia Keys was the headliner on ‘AOL Sessions’ recently. The singer performed ‘Unthinkable (I’m Ready)’ from her new album ‘The Element of Freedom’.

The song was penned by Drake which I just found out and is probably the reason I liked the song before the fact. This was a solid performance and her band was on point…it sounded almost exactly like the track. I love her stage presence, too!

Video: Drake joins Jay-Z on stage in Toronto

Two of my favorite MCs hit the stage during Jay’s show at the Air Canada Centre on Halloween. Jay-Z played hypeman to Drake introducing him to his hometown crowd. I could imagine how Drake felt…for one, I know it always feels good to be home but to have one of your favorite MCs rapping (let alone knowing it word for word) to your song, that must’ve been a great feeling. Check out these two dope boys below…

Looks like J. Cole took some time out of his schedule to make an appearance on BET’s The Deal. Up top, Cole speaks on making the move from Fayetteville to New York, linking up with Jay-Z, his mixtape, being the first signee of Hov’s Roc Nation and more. He even raps a little for the camera.

Shoutout to 5starHipHop.

Destiny’s Child Audition Tape circa 1997

Here’s some footage of Destiny’s Child auditioning for Columbia Records back in 1997. From this time and the time they released their self-titled debut CD, there had been some major vocal training and artist development…into what we now call one of the greatest R & B girl group of all time.

Throwback Video: Whitney Houston – Shoop (Live)

This was one of my favorite performances by my then favorite female R&B artist. Back then, you couldn’t tell me nothing ’bout Whitney…in my eyes she could really do no wrong…but since then I’ve been proven wrong. Her performances and vocals were awesome and she was basically the Queen of Rhythm and Pop. Beyoncé has since taken the reigns and has no plans of surrendering the crown. Anyway, y’all check it out.
